Monitoring Production Blog

Originally, I planned to begin creating my front cover this week, however due to the delay I enountered, I have had to delay this. I have now completed my interview and photo shoot with Malcolm. I thought the interview went well due to the relivant and interesting questions I asked, and the in depth and intriguing answers he gave. However, I am not happy with all of my photographs and I belive this is a weaker area of my project for the reasons which I will explain. Although I took around 50 photographs leaving me with a larage choice, many of the photographs were under exposed and were poorly framed. Many of the photographs were very similar too, and I forgot to take photographs from different angles, such as close-ups. This will have a drastic affect on the look of one of my double page spreads because I planned on using a close up image of Malcom as it would allow the reader to see him from a different view point and places all emphasis on him. I also believe that taking close-up photography would develop my creativity. Therefore, I will find out whether it would be possible to take another photo shoot. However, if doing another photo shoot isn't possible, there are a few photographs that I could use.
This week I completed my contents page, and all I need to add is my photographs. The photographs to be included on the contents page are ones of both Malcolm and Jonathan. I have completed two contents pages as although I took ideas from professionally produced contents pages to create the first one, I was unhappy with how professional and uninteresting my original one looked. I am more pleased with how this one has turned out compared with the original one because the layout is more clear, and colours are bright, relevant and more eye catching. I also picked out the photographs which I believe are the best.
Next week, I will be beginning my double page spread as well as taking another photo shoot.
